I recently tried cooking Korean rice cake skewers (Tteok Kkochi). The Korean rice cake skewers glaze with a special gochujang sauce creating a delicious spicy taste. The Korean rice cake is a quick easy Korean snack to cook at home. One of the best snacks to enjoy with Kdrama

The Korean rice cake skewers are a bit like Tteokbokki, but on a skewer & the best thing about the rice cake skewers, they are so crispy & enjoyable. Give it a try because so quick and easy to make it.

Ingredients

Korean Rice Cake
Skewers

Gochujang sauce:

1tbsp Gochujang paste
1tbsp Soy sauce
1x minced garlic
1tsp Honey

Method

  1. Boil water in a saucepan & pour in the rice cakes to blanch them for 2 minutes until soft.
  2. Drain the water from the rice cake and run cold tap water on the rice cakes.
  3. Skewer the rice cakes, add oil to the frypan & sear the rice cake skewers until they look golden brown.
  4. Add Gochujang paste, rice vinegar, vegan soy sauce, minced garlic, sugar & sesame oil into a bowl. Stir it to make the Bibimbap sauce.
  5. Glaze the cooked Gochujang sauce over the rice cake skewers on both sides.
  6. Garnish it with roasted sesame & spring onions. Happy eating!
