Omni Plant-based mince (Korean Bibimbap Dish)

I recently tried out @omnifoods.au. Omni Foods specialises in plant-based meatless frozen products made from a blend of proteins from peas, non-GMO soy, shiitake mushrooms and rice. Omni Foods has a Good Source of Protein, suitable for vegans & vegetarians. I have created some dishes using omnifoods plant-based meat to re-create a dish.

Easy Recipes:

Bibimbap is a very popular Korean dish in Korea. The term for Bibimbap in Korean means mixing rice. Bibimbap is usually topped with protein & vegetables, added with their bibimbap sauce & then mixed to eat.

Ingredients

Protein:

Omni Plant-Based Mince
Steamed rice

Marinade for Omni Plant-Based Mince :

1tsp vegan soy sauce
1tsp sugar
1tsp sesame oil

Vegetables:

1x bunch of spinach
1x shredded carrot
1x shredded zucchini
1/2 cup of bean sprouts
4x sliced Shitake mushrooms

Bibimbap sauce:

1tbsp Gochujang paste
2tsp rice vinegar
2tbsp vegan soy sauce
1x minced garlic
3tsp sugar
2tsp sesame oil

Method

  1. Sauté the spinach, shredded carrots, zucchinis and sliced Shitake mushrooms separately & leave aside.
  2. Blanch bean sprouts for 1 minute.
  3. Add Omni Plant-Based Mince, vegan soy sauce, sugar, & sesame oil into a bowl & allow to marinate for 10 minutes.
  4. Add the marinated Omni Plant-Based Mince into a pan & cook until it’s ready.
  5. Add Gochujang paste, rice vinegar, vegan soy sauce, minced garlic, sugar & sesame oil into a bowl. Stir it to make the Bibimbap sauce.
  6. Grab a bowl and let’s start plating! Add the steamed rice to the middle of the bowl & in a circular direction, and add the sautéed vegetables all around the bowl. Lastly, add the delicious Omni Plant-Based Mince in the middle/top of rice.
  7. Drizzle the spicy Bibimbap sauce and sprinkle some roasted sesame and spring onions. Best enjoyed with side dishes
